APEIRON REGISTRY

Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 April 2026 · Version 1.0 (Open Beta)

Open Beta notice. Apeiron Registry is currently in open beta. These terms apply to the beta service. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 15 days in advance.

1. Who we are

"Apeiron", "we", "us" refers to the operator of the Apeiron Registry service, accessible at www.apeiron-registry.com (the "Service"). For any inquiry regarding these Terms, contact admin@contact.apeiron-registry.com.

2. What the Service does

Apeiron Registry is an open identity protocol for AI agents. It provides:

  • An identity registration flow with KYC verification via the EU VIES system (for EU companies) or manual review (for non-EU companies).
  • API credentials that an AI agent uses to identify itself when accessing online content protected by publishers who participate in the protocol.
  • A tamper-evident access log, settled daily on-chain (Base blockchain) as batched content hashes, providing a cryptographic audit trail.

3. Who can register

The Service is reserved to legal entities (companies, organizations). The person completing the registration must be duly authorized to act on behalf of the entity. Registrations from individuals in a personal capacity, or from entities under economic sanctions, are not permitted.

4. Verification (KYC)

EU entities are verified in real time against the official VIES registry. Non-EU entities are accepted provisionally and reviewed manually by Apeiron within 24 hours. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or revoke any registration that does not meet verification requirements or that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, misleading, or in breach of these Terms.

5. Fees

During the open beta, registration is free of charge. A valid payment method (credit card) is required at registration solely for identity verification purposes via Stripe Setup Mode; no amount is charged. Apeiron may introduce a registration fee in the future; any such change will be announced with at least 30 days notice and will not apply retroactively to existing active registrations for the remainder of their current term.

6. User obligations

When using the Service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Use API credentials exclusively for the purpose declared at registration (e.g. inference, training, search, summarization).
  • Keep your API key confidential and treat it as a credential. You are responsible for any activity performed with your credentials.
  • Respect the terms and robots directives of the sites your agent accesses. Apeiron identity is not a license to circumvent access controls.
  • Not use the Service to scrape personal data in violation of applicable law, nor for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.

7. On-chain data

As part of the protocol's audit guarantees, daily batches of content-access hashes are committed to the Base blockchain. On-chain data is public and immutable. The data committed on-chain does not contain personal information of your agent users — it consists of cryptographic hashes of accessed URLs, aggregated per agent per day. By using the Service you acknowledge that this on-chain commitment cannot be erased or modified.

8. Intellectual property

The Apeiron name, logo, documentation, smart contract, website and SDKs are protected by intellectual property rights and remain the property of their respective owners. The smart contract source code and the WordPress plugin are released under the license indicated in the public repository. Content accessed through agents using Apeiron credentials remains the property of its respective publishers; these Terms do not grant any right to reproduce or redistribute that content.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your registration without notice if we reasonably believe you have materially breached these Terms, or if we are required to do so by law or competent authority. You may terminate your registration at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your credentials will be revoked. On-chain records generated prior to termination will remain on the blockchain as described in Section 7.

10. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, particularly during the open beta phase. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, or that the Service will meet your specific requirements.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Apeiron shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or in connection with the Service. Our aggregate liability for direct damages shall not exceed the fees paid by you to Apeiron in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to liability, or €100 during the free beta period. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy, without prejudice to any non-waivable protection afforded to consumers under the law of their country of residence (noting that the Service is reserved to legal entities).

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at the address you provided during registration, at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that period constitutes acceptance.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms should be sent to admin@contact.apeiron-registry.com.
